Clinical Research

PH Javara

Our Practice Participates in Clinical Trials in Partnership with Javara.
Discuss with your Physician Today.

We conduct clinical trials to help find new and better ways of preventing, diagnosing and treating disease.  Results from clinical trials help determine if a medicine or medical device is ready to go to market.

As a participant in a trial, you may receive access to treatments and diagnostics that may not otherwise be available and that could potentially lead to improved health outcomes.  Additionally, you may receive compensation for study time and/or travel.

If you are potentially eligible for a study, you may be contacted by a Javara research team member on our behalf to see if you are interested.  Privia’s Notice of Privacy Practices  describes how your data may be shared with our trusted partners for research purposes.  Participation in a clinical trial is always 100% optional and your access to medical care will not be impacted if you choose not to participate.

We offer clinical trials that we believe will allow us to improve the quality of care of our patients.  Read our letter to patients about clinical research here.

Family Medicine

Family Practice Integrated Approach

At Pucillo Family Practice, P.A./NRG Wellness Center, the doctors, and providers have a combined seventy-five (75) years of experience in the Fort Bend area. Our clinicians are astute at treating both acute and chronic medical problems, as well as identifying the preventive measures that pick up diseases before they become a problem.

One of our main interests at Pucillo Family Practice is cardiovascular and diabetes treatment and prevention since those two illnesses account for more deaths in the U.S. than all other illnesses combined.   Our providers use the most modern medications to attack these conditions but are also ready to work with patients who are willing, when appropriate, to take a more natural approach and make necessary lifestyle changes in place of medication.  In other words, rather than being a “one-answer-fits-all practice,” we tailor our treatment to the individual patient, working together with them as a team towards a personalized treatment goal.  Our female providers pride themselves in women’s health issues and Dr. Pucillo has been certified by the Hotze Health & Wellness Center in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.

Pucillo Family Practice is at the cutting edge of the medical model shift.  Our practice has been electronic for the past few years and we have met the standards of the voluntary physician quality reporting initiative (PQRI) to the government since the measures were established in 2007.  We also participate in the government’s new Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and are working towards becoming an accredited Patient-Centered Medical Home –  a health care setting that facilitates partnerships between individual patients, their personal physicians, and when appropriate, the patient’s family.

At Pucillo Family Practice we care for our patients’ time and convenience. To accommodate today’s busy lifestyles and schedules, we have extended practice hours and are open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday and Friday and from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Our practice endeavors to accommodate our patients by performing as much testing in-house as possible, including laboratory testing such as basic blood tests, pregnancy tests, glucose tolerance, strep screens and urinalysis.  However, we do not limit ourselves to basic testing and also incorporate Advanced Lipid Testing which includes state-of-the art analysis of patient’s cholesterol profiles, as well as identifying individual inflammatory vascular markers which are early indicators of diabetes and renal disease. Together with IMTs (Intima Media Testing) our patients can rest assured they will not be blindsided by any symptomatic cardiovascular problems. Although we are not an imaging center, there is no need to travel to an outside facility to obtain a diagnosis of fractures, dislocations or serious injuries.

We also perform a plethora of advanced diagnostic testing in-house such as Allergy Testing, EMGs, Urodynamics, VNG Balance Testing, Nerve Conduction Studies, Cognitive Testing and Sleep Studies.   For a more detailed explanation of these studies, please look under the tab Services for “Advanced Diagnostic.

The providers also provide caring and effective treatment to injured workers as well as return-to-work evaluations for various large and small corporations in the Fort Bend, Sugar Land and Missouri City areas.  Drug screening and vaccination services, as well as full-scale executive physicals, are available.

Another positive aspect of our family practice is that we partner with Breco Research, Ltd. and are actively involved with major pharmaceutical companies in conducting in-house research trials on new, soon-to-be-available medications. The fact that we accept most insurance makes Pucillo Family Practice, P.A./NRG Wellness Center your logical choice for your primary care. We guarantee that each patient will receive individualized, caring and effective treatment, tailored to meet all of their medical needs.  Whatever medical care you require, we guarantee that you will be treated comprehensively and given a thorough explanation of the diagnosis and the treatment’s benefits and risks.

Allergy Testing

Allergy Immunization

Up to 25 percent of the population in the industrialized world suffers from allergies, and the number is rising. Allergies are reactions of the immune system to substances that, in most people, cause no symptoms. Allergies occur due to an immune response that reacts towards natural substances in the environment in the same way it would react towards something harmful. The reason that the immune system reacts to a harmless substance is unknown.

Types of Allergies:

Three types of allergies exist: respiratory allergy, skin-related allergy, and food allergy.

Respiratory Allergy:

The respiratory system is usually affected if a person is allergic to tree pollen, grass pollen, animals (such as pets and farm animals), molds, and house dust mites. Allergic symptoms include sneezing, itching, watery eyes and nose, and wheezing. Hay fever (rhinitis) and/or asthma are the most common results of respiratory allergies.

Skin-related Allergy:

Allergy to substances such as metals and fragrances and allergy to proteins such as latex affect the skin and is known as allergic eczema or contact allergy (contact dermatitis). The symptoms are usually itching, burning, reddening, and blisters of the affected area. Allergic eczema most often occurs in early childhood but also appears in older children and adults.

Food Allergy:

The most common food-related allergies are cow’s milk, egg, soy, yeast, corn, wheat, and oat. Eczema, diarrhea, nausea, and, in some cases, anaphylaxis are potential symptoms of food-related allergies. The best way to treat food allergies is avoidance and/or rotation. You cannot build a blocking antibody to foods. We found that in the milder cases of food allergies, symptoms are relieved after the first vial of allergy serum.

What is in the serum?

Ironically, the same substances (allergens) that cause allergies are also used to treat them. The serum builds up blocking antibodies against antigens which cause the immune system to become less sensitive to the allergen, reducing symptoms when the same allergen is encountered in the future.

Skin tests

The health professional doing the skin prick or intradermal test will:

  • Clean the test site (usually on your back or arm) with alcohol.
  • Place drops of the possible allergens on your skin about 1 in. (2.5 cm) to 2 in. (5 cm) apart. This allows many substances to be tested at the same time.
  • Prick the skin under each drop with a needle. The needle passes through the drop and allows some of the allergen to penetrate your skin. For the intradermal test, a needle is used to inject the allergen solution deeper into the skin. See a picture of a skin prick allergy test.

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy/Natural Balance Program

  • Feeling Tired?
  • Having night sweats?
  • Vaginal dryness?
  • Difficulty Sleeping?
  • Are you depressed?
  • No sex drive?
  • Always feeling hot or cold?
  • Suffering from brain fog?

Don’t let changing hormones ruin your relationships and run your life. If you have any of these symptoms, find out how Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy with Dr. Pucillo’s integrated Natural Balance program can change your life. Dr. Pucillo has been certified by the Hotze Health & Wellness Center in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.

Replacement Therapy/Natural Balance

Our comprehensive Natural Balance program enables patients to boost their immune systems, increase their energy levels, and enjoy a better quality of life. Our treatment philosophy consists of a 6-Point Treatment Regime that will be customized to the needs of each individual:

  • Treatment of Yeast
  • Biologically-Identical Thyroid Hormone Supplementation when indicated necessary
  • Biologically-Identical Hormone Replacement in both females and males when indicated necessary
  • Treatment of Adrenal Fatigue
  • Vitamin and Mineral Supplementation
  • A Nutritionally Balanced Eating Program for obtaining and maintaining optimum health and an ideal
    body weight

Natural, compounded medications will be prescribed to specifically treat patients in correlation with their symptoms and laboratory results. These medications can only be obtained through a compounding pharmacy.

We have recently teamed up with one of the foremost compound pharmacies in the country – one of only four compounding pharmacies in the State of Texas accredited by the PCAB (Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board). The compounding pharmacy will submit for reimbursement the cost of your individual hormone replacement therapy to your insurance company on your behalf. Most insurance companies will cover some part of the cost. Amazingly though, not only is the pharmacy accredited, but their prices are amongst the lowest in the country. So, even if your insurance company reimburses only part or none of the cost, you will find your hormones surprisingly affordable.

Wellness evaluations are customized to the needs of each individual and fees based on the services rendered. The Bio-Identical/Natural Balance program is not covered by insurance and is self-pay only.

Fees:

Female $2,100 – $2,300
Male $2,100 – $2,300
